Welcome. Here you will find a word from our pastor, announcements and opportunities, and prayer requests. We look forward to worshiping with you.

A Word From Pastor Richard

“Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.’”- Matthew 28: 5-7

Dear Friends,

“He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!” That’s what we proclaimed on Easter morning once again.

On my Sabbath Monday. Briana and I skied at Breckenridge (pictured above). The snow is not as great as it has been in previous seasons given the low snowpack, but we still found some places with good snow above timberline. And the views were spectacular as always. While we skied, I reflected on Holy Week. For me, it was a very special and meaningful week.

I wanted to thank everyone for helping to make this week so special. I was really touched by the special music, that we celebrated the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper twice, both on Maundy Thursday and Easter, and that we worshipped with so many people both inside and outside of our church community. The Good Friday service at the Methodist church was deeply moving as we listened to the account of Jesus’ passion and death and worshipped with our Methodist brothers and sisters. Then on Easter, as always, I was so pleased to see so many guests come to worship, whether they were family and friends or our neighbors in the community.

As I said in my Easter sermon, the main points I heard from the Easter scripture were: Jesus says “do not be afraid,” “he has been raised,” and let’s share the good news of resurrection to the world. Let’s not stop celebrating Easter. Let’s share the good news of resurrection in word and deed with all we meet.

He is risen! He is risen indeed! That’s what we proclaimed on Easter morning. And we’re called to proclaim that every day.

Glory be to God for another wonderful Easter here at Church of the Hills!

May the Love of God be with you,

Pastor Richard

Pictures Wanted

I hope you have all enjoyed getting birthday cards this past year with photos taken by you and your COTH friends.  We are needing NEW PHOTOS to be used in May and thoughout the summer.  They don’t need to be specific to the season - just photos that will bring a smile and JOY to the recipient!   So look through your photos and send up to 5 of your favorites to marjorieclinton@gmail.com.

Buffalo Park Cleanup

How about some exercise and community service all in one simple task?  Please join us in the semi-annual Buffalo Park Road Cleanup at 9 AM on April 25th.  Contact John O’Brien at ohana@obrien.net or (520) 444-1855 if you are able to participate.

Deacons Coffee

The Deacons love that some COTH members bring snacks to share for coffee fellowship after our church service on Sundays.

As much as we appreciate fresh food being brought we ask that it is in the Deacons kitchen by 9:00 am Sunday mornings. If it is not there by then we will probably freeze it to use the following Sunday.

The two Deacons who are providing food on Sundays plan ahead, coordinate what is brought, and are at church by 9:00 am every Sunday to set up. We'd love it if those bringing food would let Dianne Lebsock or Marilyn Sandifer know ahead of time.

A special thanks to those who contribute! We do appreciate you thinking of us.

EChO Food Pantry Thanks You

You’ve done it again – hundreds of pounds of food and other necessary items for the 300 families that the EChO Food Pantry is serving. Did you know that some of these families are choosing to either heat their homes, put gas in the car, or EAT?

Thank you so much. You continue to forge ahead for the food bank. You and your generosity are spectacular. Thank you for caring.

Our Church Family

Please remember our members who are not able to attend Church of the Hills regularly. While in isolation it is easy to feel anxious and alone. A quick note or card may seem like a small thing but will go a long way in lifting spirits. Please take a moment to send some cheer to the following members and let them know we care.
