Bored during COVID-19? Want a way to overcome that boredom and support your community at the same time? Cloth masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and whether you are an expert at sewing or a novice, you can make a cloth mask for Mount Evans Hospice to help protect some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Please make masks according to the standards of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum which can be found on their website: https://www.rmqm.org/. These are the standards Mount Evans Hospice requires for cloth mask donations. They recommend, though, that if you do not have elastic for the straps, please use bias tape if possible — simple cloth straps tend to slide and make the mask less effective. Ashley Snyder will be collecting donations in May and June to take to Mount Evans Hospice on behalf of Church of the Hills. When you have a donation ready, there is no need to go out to drop off your donation; just schedule a home pick-up by calling Ashley at 303.674.6641 or E-mail church@churchofthehills.com. To help maintain social distancing, please leave your donation either at your mailbox or your front porch at the scheduled time.
It is with pleasure for the Love in Action Team to announce our decision to send our portion of the Pentecost offering (40%) to Resilience 1220.  Their licensed therapists provide free counseling services to youth ages 12-20 in the mountain communities west of Denver.  They raise awareness of the social, emotional, and mental-health issues young people face, and to provide the necessary life skills to create wellness and resiliency in their lives.
If you would like to participate in the Pentecost offering, please send your donation to Church of the Hills before May 312020.  Please write the check to COTH but put Pentecost in the memo section.

If you are between the ages of 17 and 25 and are looking to continue your post secondary education, you should know that you may be eligible for a $500 scholarship through the Love in Action committee. Postsecondary education includes universities and colleges, as well as trade and vocational schools. A generous donor had provided funds for two students for the 2020-2021 school year. If you are interested, please contact Cathy Flaherty at cathy@churchofthehills.com  for a copy of an application setting forth eligibility requirements
