Church of the Hills is a Presbyterian (USA) congregation founded in 1953. The Presbyterian Church (USA) is governed by representative bodies at the church, local, regional and national levels.
At the church level, the Session is responsible for all matters, spiritual and secular. Session members, elected by the congregation and ordained or installed as elders, are then responsible for the mission and government of the church. This governmental body is composed of the Pastor, who serves as Moderator, ruling elders and the Clerk of Session.
Church of the Hills has divided its ministry into eleven areas: The Board of Deacons, Administration, Christian Education, Communications, Member Development, Mission and Outreach, Nominating, Stewardship, Strategic Planning and Worship and Celebration.
In our life together, we seek to receive and reflect the gift of grace in our worship, prayer, spiritual growth, and mutual respect. Members and friends of Church of the Hills strive to open their lives to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word and by reflecting the love and grace of God in their individual and congregational lives. They endeavor to value every person, recognizing that we are all gifted by God with very different perspectives, spiritual gifts, and passions for ministry. The goal is to encourage dialogue and friendship within our community of faith and to commit to working out differences as directly as possible in the context of mutual respect and Christian love.
